The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) Crime Laboratory Forensic Scientist 2 – Drug
Identification Unit shall be directly accountable to the MNPD Crime Laboratory Forensic Scientist
Supervisor – Drug Identification Unit. This position operates at an intermediate level, independently
performing drug identification testing, data collection, interpretation and report writing as assigned by
the supervisor. Incumbent may be required to work extended hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or forensic science and two (2) years of experience in forensic
drug analysis in an accredited scientific laboratory. No substitutions. Transcripts required. Candidates
meeting the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in a written exam.
