Description: The Mississippi Forensics Laboratory (MSFL) has entered into a partnership with Rankin County to provide forensic analysis of Seized Drugs collected within the county for submission and analysis in the Drug Section at MSFL.
The MSFL will provide evidence receiving and storage space, as well as analysis capabilities, including all consumables and instrumentation necessary to perform forensic drug evidence analysis for Rankin County submissions, in accordance with ANAB accreditation and the
MSFL Quality System.
The dedicated scientist capable of performing such analysis at the MSFL, as determined according to MSFL standards of education, training, competency, proficiency, policy and procedures, safety and security, and objectives in forensic testing, will be funded by Rankin County.
This position is for a Forensic Laboratory Scientist II within the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory, Pearl (Headquarters) laboratory. A Bachelor’s degree in a physical science from an accredited four-year college or university. Minimum 24 hours in chemistry to include analytical chemistry or quantitative analysis. Minimum 2 years’ experience in Forensic Drug Analysis.
